Assam police arrest Anthony Doke and two others

ITANAGAR, Mar 16: The Assam police has arrested suspected arms smuggler and self-styled commander-in-chief of National Liberation Council of Taniland (NLCT) Anthony Doke, along with two other suspects from Parwatipur under Lakhimpur district, Assam on Thursday last.
The other two arrested were Prabin Mili from Majuli and Saurabh Doley from Panigaon, Lakhimpur of Assam.
Acting on a tip off, a joint police team of Bihpuria, Laluk and Banderdewa raided a rent house near the police training centre of Banderdewa on NH-15 and arrested the three persons.
The police also seized from their possession, one pistol along with 10 live rounds.
According to the Bihpuria police station Officer-in-charge Dilip Mili, Anthony was freed on bail three months earlier. He, along with Prabin Mili and Saurabh Doley had also been involved in several other cases of loot and extortion within Assam.
“Their modus operandi involved threatening wealthy victims and extorting them at gun-point,” the OC informed.
He further said that an investigation is on to find out the whereabouts of the other two suspected accomplices who managed to escape during the police raid on Thursday.
