RUKSIN, Mar 16: The National People’s Party (NPP) East Siang district unit president Tapang Taloh resigned from the party on Saturday and joined Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S).
Taloh, who is also retired director of elementary education, took the decision after a meeting with former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister and JD(S) leader Gegong Apang in presence of the party’s top brass and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda at Oyan in East Siang this morning.
Extending his solidarity and support to Gegong Apang, Taloh said that he has decided to contest the ensuing assembly poll from Pasighat West with JD(S) ticket.
It needs to mention that former C M Apang, who was in BJP till February this year, quit the party and joined JD(S) in support of secularism. He was disappointed over disobedience of party principle by BJP national leaders, which made him compel to quit the party.
