DAPORIJO, Mar 19: Upper Subansiri Deputy Commissioner Danish Ashraf stressed on promoting organic and sustainable farming methods in the district.
Addressing a recent meeting of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), which was chaired by District Agriculture Deputy Director Jomra Dulom, the DC commended the KVK for “uplifting the farming community through scientific technologies,” and encouraged the kendra to strengthen the farming skills of the district’s farmers.
Ashraf advised KVK Head (in-charge) Nyape Bam to approach state government for BADP funds, “so that they can release skill development and training programme funds directly to the KVK.”
Besides progressive farmers and farmwomen, the DVO, the DFDO, the DFO, the ICDS DD and others attended the meeting and offered suggestions.
The KVK’s scientific staffers presented its 2019-20 annual action plan (AAP) and 2018-19 annual progress report, and the meeting concluded with the passing of the AAP.
