Last polling teams return; scrutiny underway before re-poll announcement

ITANAGAR, Apr 16: The last two polling teams arrived at their receiving centres in Koloriang in Kurung Kumey district on Tuesday.
Additional Chief Electoral Officer (ACEO) Kangki Darang informed that scrutiny is on for four assembly constituencies under Koloriang circle.
Regarding the demand and requirement of re-polling in certain constituencies of the state, the ACEO said an update would be possible only after the scrutiny, and as per the directions of the Election Commission of India.
As per the latest update, the voter turnout of the state has also increased from 76.95 percent to 77.38 percent.
While Arunachal East parliamentary constituency’s voter turnout percentage of 83.52 remains the same, the west parliamentary constituency’s has increased to 72.89 percent from the previous update of 72.15 percent.
The five constituencies of Palin, Nyapin, Tali, Koloriang and Nacho saw an increase in the voter turnout percentage.
Of these constituencies, Palin currently has the highest increase of 7.88 percent, with 74.43 percent turnout as per the latest update. It had previously recorded 66.55 percent.
With a 7.85 percent increase, the elector turnout of Koloriang constituency now stands at 76.84 percent from its previous update of 68.99 percent.
Nyapin constituency’s elector turnout has also increased to 74.36 percent from its previous score of 70.35 percent, while Tali constituency, which had earlier recorded 65.39 percent turnout, now records 68.72 percent.
Nacho constituency’s elector turnout increased from 79.65 to 82.55 percent till Tuesday evening.
