Northeast Fiesta concludes

PUNJAB, Apr 24: The fourth edition of the Northeast Fiesta – an annual cultural event organized by the Northeast Students Organization (NESO) of Jalandhar concluded here on Sunday last.
The event aimed at fostering integrity among different ethnic communities through a well-defined cultural exchange and building a bridge between the Northeast region and other states.
In his inaugural address, Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Phagwara, Punjab DrJalinder Singh urged the organizers to continue their effort for promotion of unity and integrity among the different communities through cultural exchange.
Exhibition of handloom and handicrafts products, tribal attires, photography, and exhibition of tourism map of the north-eastern region was held during the festive occasion.
Students and cultural troupes from all eight northeastern states presented their folk music and dances, showcasing their living traditions during the occasion.
A discussion on ‘Promotion of trade and commerce in Northeast’ was also held, wherein eminent economists discussed on commercial prospects and tourism potentialities of the north-eastern region in terms of its rich natural resources.
Renowned fashion designer, singer and artistes from NE states also participated in the event.
