Khoda Ruja passes away

ITANAGAR, May 15: Khoda Ruja, former President of Tanw Supun Dukun (TSD) and govt officer has passed away on Wednesday.
Tanw Supun Dukun, the Apex Council of Apatanis informed that he breathed his last on 15 May 2019 at his Ziro residence at the age of 62.
He is survived by his wife, four sons, three daughters and grand children.
Born on 1st March 1957 to Lt. Khoda Mudo and Khoda Dumi of Reru village, he did his schooling from High School Hapoli and later graduated from Jawaharlal Nehru College, Pasighat. Later, he obtained Diploma in Business Management and also attended Productive and Industrial Engineering Training from Madras, TSD informed.
He was appointed an Assistant Director of Industry on 5th December 1980 by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh and went on to become directors of various govt departments.
In recognition of his meritorious services, he was awarded “Silver Medal” by the state in 1994. Besides this he was recognised with numerous awards for his contribution in the field of textile and handicrafts, sericulture and Khadi & Village Industry.
He was unanimously selected as President of TSD on Dec 2016.
“Under his leadership TSD had worked closely with many Community Based Organisation on various pertinent socio-cultural and political issues for harmony and inclusive growth and coexistence. He had actively participated with Government of Arunachal Pradesh in shaping community related policies for development works”, TSD said in a message.
The Nyishi Elite Society (NES) has mourned the death of Khoda Ruja. Terming his death “an abrupt loss of a guardian of the community” NES said that Ruja’s memorable contribution in Nyishi-Apatani Summit Anniversaries as the President (2016-2018) shall be remembered forever.
NES paid rich tribute to his ardent professionalism and administrative acumen.
The Directorate of Trade & Commerce has mourned the death of its former director.
In a condolence meeting held on 15 May, the officers and staff of the Department observed two minutes silence as a mark of respect.
Late Khoda Ruja served as the Director of Trade & Commerce for six years. The Department of Industries has also mourned the passing of Late Ruja who also worked as Director of Textile and Handicraft. He was very cordial and kind to all officer colleagues and staffs, read a condolence message from the department.
The officers and staff of the directorate of textile and handicraft mourned the sudden demise of its ex-director.
Expressing deep sorrow over the death of Ruja, they observed two minutes’ silence.
Tage Taki, BJP candidate for Ziro Hapoli Constituency in a condolence message has fondly remembered late Ruja. “As a man, he was an epitome of ‘simple living, high thinking’, loved and liked by all. As an officer, he was known for his helpful nature, his honesty and significant contributions to the department” read a message.
The All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) has also mourned the death of Ruja.
