Capital police recover stolen car, nab thief

ITANAGAR, May 28: A team of police under the supervision of Capital SP Tumme Amo recovered a stolen Scorpio car and arrested the alleged robber from A Sector, Naharlagun, on Monday.
According to Amo, the driver of the vehicle (from Assam), Purna Orang, had filed an FIR, informing that unknown miscreants had attacked him near Papu Nallah and snatched away the vehicle from him at around 2 am on 23 May.
A case under Section 341/323/392/34 IPC was registered at the Naharlagun police station, and a search operation was launched.
“The accused, identified as Nima Tsering (27), from Dirang in West Kameng district and currently residing in Papu Nallah, was arrested after four days of rigorous search operation,” the SP informed in a release on Tuesday.
The accused was produced before the court and he has been remanded to five days’ police custody as the investigation continues, Amo said.
The police team that arrested the accused included Inspectors M Geyi and D Dulom, head constable Kude Rigia, and constables Gagam Tamut, Kipa Ajay and Tapak Maling.
