ITANAGAR, Jun 4: Members of the state legislative assembly suggested nominating late Tirong Aboh’s widow, Chakat Aboh, to the house, preferably unopposed.
During the obituary reference in the state legislative assembly here on Tuesday, Pasighat West MLA Ninong Ering, Roing MLA Mutchu Mithi, Nari-Koyu MLA Kento Rina, and Taliha MLA Nyato Rigia suggested that the members nominate Chakat to the house unopposed as late Aboh had won the Khonsa West seat in the election this year.
Voicing the same opinion, Chief Minister Pema Khandu said, “Honouring late Aboh, Chakat Aboh should be nominated unopposed. Since it is a political decision, we will have to hold a meeting with all political party leaders to make her part of the assembly. We hope to see her in the assembly soon.”
Mithi, who is also the state National People’s Party (NPP) leader, expressed hope that Chakat would be nominated from the NPP as Aboh had won from the same party.
He, however, said it was upto the family to take a call in the matter of party affiliation.
