BOMDILA, Jun 6: A meeting on implementation of the Solid Waste and Plastic Waste Management Rules-2016 in the urban areas of Bomdila and Dirang in West Kameng district was held here on Tuesday, in compliance with the National Green Tribunal’s (NGT) orders.
Urban Development & Housing (UD&H) EE Takar Tachang called for strict implementation of the NGT’s directives in both Bomdila and Dirang.
Various resolutions were adopted in accordance with the directives of the NGT, for compliance by the people in both the places.
Chairing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner (in-charge) P Monpa urged the people to associate themselves with the initiative to keep their homes and surroundings clean. He advocated complete ban on the use of plastic bags and related products.
Among others, Dirang ADC (in-charge) Tenzin Jambey, market committee secretaries, traders of Bomdila and Dirang, and officials of the UD&H department attended the meeting. (DIPRO)
