DCM reviews ADP implementation

NAMSAI, Jun 7: Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Friday held a review meeting on the NITI Aayog’s Aspirational Districts Programme (ADP) at the deputy commissioner’s office here.
While reviewing the progress made on various projects under the ADP, Mein asked all the departments to come up with innovative ideas, and directed them to record data and targets for the year for uploading to the NITI Aayog portal.
Deputy Commissioner (in-charge) Bijoy Talukdar briefed the DCM on the status of various projects. He informed that works on several projects are going on smoothly while several projects are in different stages of completion.
Officers from various departments apprised Mein of the issues and demands with regard to the community’s welfare.
The meeting focused on water supply, electricity, large-scale crop cultivation, cold storage facility, monitoring of schools and teachers, etc, under the ADP in Namsai.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Lekang MLA Jummum Ete Deori, SP (in-charge) DW Thunggon, and officers of government departments.
Meanwhile, Mein expressed concern over the growing drug menace and poppy cultivation, and urged the stakeholders to work together to check the menace and promote alternatives to poppy cultivation. (DCMO)
