Topper students of govt schools felicitated

ITANAGAR, Jun 18: Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner Vikram Singh Malik on Tuesday felicitated the students of government schools of the capital who topped in the Class 10 and 12 CBSE exams.
The DC gave away cash awards and certificates to the students in a felicitation programme held here on Tuesday.
Among the toppers in Class 10, Bipasha Bose from the Naharlagun GHSS scored the highest percentage of 96.50, while Oyang Kamin of GHSS Arunodaya topped in Class 12 (humanities) with 84 percent. Other toppers include Tadar Sangte from the Naharlagun GHSS (86 percent in Class 12, science) and Arjun Yadav from the Itanagar GHSS (80.60 percent in Class 12, commerce).
DDSE Mallo Yam Gollo and Capital ADC Talom Dupak were also present at the function.
In Tawang, three CBSE toppers of the district were felicitated by the education department at the government town secondary school on Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner Sang Phuntsok gave away the awards, and advised the students to continue to excel in their chosen fields.
In Tirap, meritorious students of various government schools were felicitated with laptops and smartphones under the ‘Acharya Dronacharya Gurukul Yojana (ADGY) Talent Hunt’ programme for the year 2018-19, in a function at the badminton club in Khonsa.
Ten Class 9 toppers were also felicitated. They are Tsering Doma Tamang, Aishwaria Suman and Shruti Sandhya Sing of the Khonsa GHSS, Jento Moinyak and Doliam Wangno of the Lazu GSS, Miatcha Mongchan and Damcha Medam the Borduria GHSS, and Rencha Boi, Khomwang Songthing and Winem Songthing of the Soha GSS.
Three Class 10 toppers of the Khonsa GTSS – Ngoyum Ranto, Rinwang Akhang and Adrish Phukan – and one Class 10 topper of the Khonsa GHSS were also felicitated during the function.
Apart from these, 93 girl students who passed the Class 12 exam from government schools were felicitated with smartphones on the same occasion.
DDSE Pubi Lombi, ASP Harsh Indora and Borduria CO Lim Modi distributed laptops and smartphones to the meritorious students during the programme, which was organized by the education department.
Lombi highlighted the ADGY programme and other important schemes under the education department. He said the ADGY Talent Hunt programme is a centrally-sponsored scheme to identify the meritorious students in government schools, and to promote science subject in the state.
Indora said, “Tirap, Changlang and Longding (TCL) districts are being influenced by all wrong reasons and unlawful activities,” and urged the student community and the youths of the TCL region not to indulge in any kind of unlawful activities.
He also appealed to all the youths of the TCL region to keep away from narcotic substances like opium and brown sugar. (DIPROs)
