ITANAGAR, Jun 25: The 7th edition of the Brahmaputra Valley Film Festival (BVFF) is set to return along with its renowned short film contest.
Promoting regional actors, directors and topics, the festival is offering prizes worth over Rs 2 lakhs.
The short film contest is open for films whose directors are from the Northeast, or features stories or topics related to the region, or if the films feature actors from Northeast India.
The last date for submitting the entries is 30 June.
All the submissions will be screened by a jury, and only 15 entries will be chosen for the final round. In the last round, a jury of affiliated members will review each of the shortlisted films and select the winning entries.
The selected entries will be screened at the 7th BVFF in Guwahati, where participants will get an opportunity to network with filmmakers of national and international repute, as well as win prizes over Rs 2 lakhs.
The competition is open to all Indian citizens above 21 years of age, and is only accepting films produced between October 2018 and June 2019. The maximum length of the films must be 10 minutes, including credits.
The BVFF is dedicated to the film fraternity of Northeast India. It is an initiative for new and professional filmmakers to come together and explore different aspects of moviemaking under one roof. The festival screens a variety of feature films, documentaries and short films.
