DK Memorial Badminton Championship from 6 Sept

ITANAGAR, Jun 29: The 7th Dorjee Khandu State Open Badminton Championship, 2019, which had earlier been proposed to be held in Tawang, will now be held here from 6 to 11 September.
The decision was taken by the Arunachal State Badminton Association (ASBA) in view of the unavailability of facilities in Tawang to conduct such a major event.
“As per the observers’ report,” the ASBA said, “the facilities available for badminton in Tawang, including the two courts, failed to meet the guidelines set by the Badminton Association India and the ASBA.”
The DK Memorial Badminton Championship is the top badminton event in the state, and is participated in by more than 1500 players and officials from all the 24 affiliated districts.
This time the championship will be conducted under the supervision of international referee HG Singh.
