Forum demands arrest of accused in hate crimes in Assam

ITANAGAR, Jul 12: The United Arunachal Indigenous People Forum in a representation to the chief minister on Friday demanded early arrest of all the accused in the recent incidents of hate crime against Arunachalees in neighbouring Assam.
Narrating purported incidents of loot, theft, and assault on the people of the state, the forum also sought immediate intervention and high-level talks between the governments of Assam and Arunachal to address the problems arising out of such incidents.
It also demanded that both the state governments issue a statement on the arrest of all the accused involved in the incidents of hate crime.
The organization meanwhile appealed to all sections of the society to “maintain peace and communal harmony, so that all can live in peace.”
