DC calls for inclusive planning

BOLENG, Jul 23: Siang DC Rajeev Takuk on Tuesday urged all heads of departments (HoD) to adopt inclusive and proper planning to ensure success in implementation of developmental schemes in the district.
Chairing a meeting of the district planning board here, Takuk advised the officers to seek suggestions from the stakeholders and incorporate their perspectives while undertaking any developmental work.
He also sought updates on the status of various ongoing developmental works in the district.
Pangin MLA Ojing Tasing advised the departments to “prioritize only genuine and important developmental proposals and schemes which would actually be helpful for the people, after consultation with the elected representatives.”
Rumgong MLA Talem Taboh urged the HoDs to avoid haphazard selection of schemes, and to consult with the elected representatives and hold discussions with all stakeholders before selecting developmental works.
The HoDs highlighted the activities and schemes being taken up by their departments, and listed out the challenges they face at the ground level.
After deliberations, various development works were identified and prioritized for the departments concerned. (DIPRO)
