DHEMAJI, Jul 26: The Royal Siang Riders of Pasighat took out a ‘peace and brotherhood rally’ from East Siang HQ Pasighat to Dhemaji in Assam on Friday, with the aim of strengthening the relations between Assam and Arunachal.
Captain Taso, who led the 30-member riders’ team, appealed to the people of Assam to maintain the age-old unity and brotherhood with the people of the neighbouring state.
Referring to the recent violent incidents that took place in Dhemaji and Dibrugarh against Arunachalee citizens, Taso requested the people to “forbid racial and communal feelings against the people of Arunachal.”
Members of the Jaiguwar Club of Assam welcomed the riders from Pasighat at Dhemaji town, and later joined their peace rally.
