DMO reviews achievement under RI

PASIGHAT, Jul 26: East Siang DMO Dr Kaling Dai reviewed the achievement under routine immunization (RI) during a meeting of the district task force on immunization (DTFI) held by the District Health Society here on Thursday.
The DMO called for achieving “cent percent coverage, both in antenatal registration and immunization, in the district.”
With the first-quarter performance of fully immunized infants at 30 percent, the DMO expressed hope that the district would achieve the 100 percent annual target.
Dr Dai also instructed the medical officers in charge of peripheral hospitals to generate awareness about Japanese encephalitis, dengue, scrub typhus, and other vector-borne diseases.
District project manager Ipi Doke highlighted various issues, and the need for following a micro-plan in connection with the implementation of RI of children and pregnant women. The participating medical officers presented the issues faced by the PHCs and CHCs.
The house also discussed the newly-introduced rotavirus vaccine, introduction of TD vaccine, and the use of the remaining TT vaccines in stock, among other things.
