First Northeast Hackathon in Sep

GUWAHATI, Aug 27: The first Northeast Hackathon, being organized by the Assam Science & Technology University, will be held here in Assam on 3 and 4 September.
Hackathons are events put together to bring the coding community together. The Northeast Hackathon is aimed at developing and upgrading a start-up environment, and ‘incubation of students across different colleges of Northeast India.’
The event is being organized under the TEQIP-III programme of the union HRD ministry, in association with Startup Assam.
The competition is being organized for students from across Northeast India in the focus sectors pertinent to the region, like textile and handloom, tourism, water management, energy, environment and sustainability, and food technology.
The two-day event will also feature workshops, competitions, brainstorming, expert training sessions, etc.
The competition will be judged by a panel of eminent experts from different focus sectors. The top three participants will be awarded Rs 1,50,000, Rs 75,000, and Rs 50,000, respectively.
Student participants are required to submit their business plan presentation on or before 30 August to northeasthackathon @gmail.com.
