ITANAGAR, Sep 12: A 23-member team of Wushu players from Arunachal, including two officials, have left for the 18th Junior National Wushu Championship, scheduled to be held at the Punjabi University in Chandigarh, Punjab, from 15-20 September.
Twelve boys and girls will be participating in the Wushu Sanda (unarmed combat) under various weight categories. The players are (Boys): Latwang Kamhua, Chow Sumetha, Tok Ajit, Kigo Yoka, Buku Goi, Ripaksho Chikro and Bachi C Khunjuju. (Girls): Gyamar Kana, Rinchin Lamu, Onilu Tega, Dorjee Dreema and Taug Ama.
In Wushu Taolu (demonstration), apart from Sunday Sangdo, all the eight participants are girls. They are Mepung Lamgu, Mercy Ngaimong, Yorna Roshni, Nyeman Wangsu, Realu Boo, Toku Apum, Dani Nuri and Liyum Lollen.
The state Wushu team is being led by Maibam Premchandra as team coach and Techi Juna as manager.
AAPWA president Toko Teki conveyed his best wishes to the team, and expressed hope that it would win medals for the state.
