DC calls for early start of ‘Track Child’ portal

ITANAGAR, Sep 19: Capital Complex DC Vikram Singh Malik has directed the officers of the women & child development department to immediately functionalize the ‘Track Child’ portal, which would function as a database of missing children.
He said this during a meeting of the Childline Advisory Board (CAB) on Thursday to discuss the activities of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and to suggest measures to enhance its services.
Issues pertaining to the functioning of the Childline and the CWC were also discussed during the meeting.
On being informed by CWC chairperson Kani Nada Maling that, among other things, the CWC does not have a vehicle to be used during rescue operations, the DC assured to look into the matter.
Earlier, Childline Itanagar coordinator Loanhang Aran explained the functions of the Childline and its nodal agency, the Childline India Foundation.
Among others, Capital Complex ASP Harsh Indora, urban health coordinator Dr Kabak Tamar, and representatives from the CWC, the Childline, Oju Mission, and the APSLSA attended the meeting. (DIPRO)
