Union reiterates demand for creation of more DTO, TIO posts

SEPPA, Sep 29: The All Arunachal Tourism Students’ Union has reiterated its demand for creation of more posts of district tourism officers (DTO) and tourism information officers (TIO) in every district.
During the Tourism Day celebration here in East Kameng district recently, the union also demanded creation of a ‘tourist police’ by recruiting unemployed tourism students; creation of ‘tourism teachers’ in every school; and upgrading the tourism course at Rajiv Gandhi University.
Highlighting the state’s tourism potential, the union urged the people of the state to be part of tourism promotion activities “to make Arunachal the most beautiful tourist destination in the world.”
Government Model College Vice Principal, Dr Rajesh Verma, in his address urged the tourism students to “explore the unexplored scenic beauty of the state for the world.”
A cultural programme and a workshop on tourism promotion were also conducted as part of the Tourism Day celebration.
