CHIMPU, Oct 8: “A clear vision and self-confidence is the mantra to realize one’s dreams,” said Sports & Youth Affairs Minister Mama Natung at the valedictory function of the state level youth programme, ‘Vijay hi Vijay’, at the VKV here in Papum Pare district on 6 October.
Emphasizing the importance of “discipline and mind control” to achieve mental peace and to stay focused, Natung said, “The youths of today need such leadership training programmes to explore their spiritual life and learn self-confidence and team spirit.”
The minister lauded the efforts of the Vivekananda Kendra karyakartas for organizing such training programmes. He also gave away the prizes to the champions of the five-day residential training camp.
Hibu Nopi from the NERIST (Nirjuli) was adjudged the overall champion, while Pemba Lama from Government College, Bomdila (West Kameng) and Among Arangham from IGG College, Tezu (Lohit) bagged the second and third position, respectively.
Shivir pramukh Yashik Pertin highlighted the activities of the residential training camp. Participants from 30 colleges across the state attended the training, which is organized every year by the state unit of the Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari.
Among others, prant pracharak pramukh PG Dodum, shivir adhikari Bamo Jini, and principals from various VKV centres were present at the valedictory function.
