Abolish ‘commission system’: AACWA

ITANAGAR, Oct 9: The All Arunachal Contractor’s Welfare Association (AACWA), in a memorandum, urged the chief minister to immediately issue an official order through the chief secretary to abolish the ‘commission system’ being practiced in government departments.
Stating that the ‘commission system’ is a deep-rooted problem in the state, the association said “a huge percentage as commission is deducted by the work departments for release of payments to the contractors.”
It alleged that the commission system is also practiced in various other departments, especially in appointments, posting and transfer, selection of schemes, awarding tender works etc.
“The files in the state civil secretariat, especially those related to schemes, transfer and other financial matters, never move without meeting the officers concerned,” it said.
The association lauded the present BJP leadership in the state for their resolve to launch crusade against corruption.
