YUTHEMBU, Oct 9: The governing body members of Government Upper Primary School, Yuthembu village, under Jang sub division of Tawang district in a meeting held at the school decided to make strict rules against tobacco usage and its sale in the school campus and within 100 yards radius of the school.
It was also decided that anyone found violating the rules would be penalized under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act, 2003.
Similarly, Government Higher Secondary School, Jang was also declared as a tobacco-free campus.
District Tobacco Control Cell DPO Dr Sang Thinlay informed that other schools are also on the line to follow the same, and his NCD, DTCC team members are actively giving awareness on ill effects of tobacco in various schools and institutions.
