ITANAGAR, Oct 15: A day after a case was filed against Bameng MLA Goruk Pordung, accusing of allegedly raping a woman, the Pungte Welfare Society (PWS) has taken serious note of the alleged rape of “one of its active members.”
During a meeting of the society on Tuesday, the members expressed their views and decided not to arrive at any conclusion till investigation of the case by the police is completed.
“The society believes that there should be fair investigation of the case without any bias irrespective of one’s power & position,” the statement added.
It also appealed to all sections of society not to escalate the situation in social media but to believe in rule of law.
