MANMAO, Oct 17: The police here in Changlang district on Wednesday rescued a minor girl who had allegedly been abducted from here by one Biswajaganath Rajput, a resident of Namsai district.
Rajput has also been arrested.
The case of abduction was reported at the police station here on Wednesday, following which a case was registered under Section 363 IPC, and a special investigation team, led by SI K Techi, was constituted under the supervision of Changlang SP Mihin Gambo.
The police team raided several suspected areas with assistance from the PHQ CMCU, which provided the location of the mobile phone of the accused.
By late Wednesday evening, the team zeroed in on Rajput’s hideout in Bordumsa area, from where they rescued the minor girl, and arrested the accused on the spot.
Rajput has been taken into custody and is being investigated for his motive behind abducting the girl. (DIPRO)
