ZIRO, Oct 25: The 5th State Level Bamin Tani Memorial Badminton Tournament began at multipurpose indoor stadium, Hapoli in Lower Subansiri district on Friday.
Altogether, 186 shuttlers are participating in various categories, including open and veteran. Tournament will continue till 27 October.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Arunachal State Badminton Association secretary Bamang Tago appreciated the alumni batch of 2007-08 of Dani Kunia GHSS for organizing the tournament and promoting badminton among the youths and students.
Stating that there is no age limit to play badminton, Tago urged the parents and guardians to encourage their wards to play sports.
Tago also advised the players to maintain sportsman spirit.
