PASIGHAT, Oct 26: Members of the East Siang district level inspection committee, headed by DC Kinny Singh, accompanied by Sessions Judge M Kamsi, inspected the juvenile observation home at 2 Mile here on Saturday.
Taking stock of the functioning of the juvenile home, the DC called for following in letter and spirit the provisions under the Juvenile Justice Act while dealing with children in conflict with the law. She also enumerated various services to be provided to the inmates by way of counselling, moral education, and other forms of assistance.
Chai advocated “streamlining in some areas for proper and regular functioning of the Juvenile Justice Board.”
SP Rajiv Ranjan Singh and ICDS Deputy Director Aini Taloh also offered inputs, while CDPO Onyok Panyang presented a detailed report on the functioning of the juvenile home.
The inspection committee took various resolutions, including providing innovative and teaching aids to the CCL by NGO AYANG, providing additional learning and teaching aids by the DDSE, and conducting regular health check-ups of the inmates.
The inspection committee also visited the JJB courtroom, the one-stop centre, and the DCPU office. (DIPRO)
