Commercial vehicle owners demand parking lot

YUPIA, Nov 1: The All Doimukh Tata Mobile and Carriage Tempo Welfare Association on Friday urged the Papum Pare deputy commissioner to create a parking lot in Doimukh area for the association’s members to park their vehicles.
Members of the association, led by All Arunachal Pradesh Public Transport Federation president Dobing Sonam, met DC Pige Ligu at his office here and submitted a representation, apprising him of the hardships that the commercial vehicle owners and drivers are facing due to the lack of a proper parking area.
“We have around 46 Tata Mobiles and a large number of Tempos which ply on the roads on a daily basis for public convenience. However, we have no place to park our vehicles,” the members told the DC.
Sonam later informed that the DC directed the sub-divisional officer (SDO) and the district transport officer (DTO) to carry out a reconnaissance and find a suitable area for establishing a parking lot.
“The SDO and the DTO have accordingly identified a few places and assured to come up with a parking place soon,” Sonam informed.
