5th India International Science Festival begins

KOLKATA, Nov 6: The 5th India International Science Festival (IISF) started here in West Bengal on Tuesday at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre & Science City with its inauguration by Union Minister of Science & Technology and Earth Science, Dr Harsha Vardhan.
The IISF was launched in 2015 with the objective of celebrating science and technology and demonstrating how science could lead India towards a developed nation. The IISF 2019 is being organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Earth Sciences, Health and Family Welfare in association with Vijnana Bharti (VIBHA).
The festival is witnessing participation of various leading institutes and organization of the country like DRDO, CSIR, and DST among others.
The Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology is also participating in the festival demonstrating various activities of the council, which includes work of DBT-APSCS&T CoE of bio resources and sustainable development, Kimin, Science Centre and Patent Information Centre.
Team Arunachal Pradesh is being represented by Scientists Bamang Apo, Tenzin Sherap, Terpo Ronya, ,Dr Pankaj Bhairali, , Dunyak Ado, and Dr Vivek Kumar, curator of the Science Centre.
The four-day programme, scheduled to conclude on Friday includes various activities like exhibition stalls, conclaves, oral and poster presentations and screening of science movies.
