LIROMOBA, Nov 20: Local legislator Nyamar Karbak on Wednesday officially declared the Akker Yomgam Village under Yomcha circle in West Siang district as ‘model village’ under the Chief Minister’s Adarsh Gram Yojana (CMAGY).
The MLA also laid the foundation stone for the village on the occasion.
Addressing a large gathering, Karbak informed that the objective of the CMAGY is to develop 60 model villages in the state, having facilities and basic amenities, like 24×7 piped drinking water, electricity, primary school, primary health infrastructure, internal roads, etc.
The MLA exhorted the villagers to strictly adhere to the guidelines of the CMAGY so that the village (Akker Yomgam) can be developed as a model one in true sense.
He also appealed to the villagers to keep their surroundings neat and clean.
West Siang Deputy Commissioner Swetika Sachan and a host of officials from the District Rural Development Agency, Rural and Public Works departments were also present on the occasion.
Later, Karbak visited the Laggi Gamlin village and interacted with the locals.
