PASIGHAT, Nov 22: The 4th District Sports Meet for the students of the upper primary schools (UPS) of East Siang district began at the JNC playground here on Thursday with the inaugural match played between Mebo block and Pasighat block.
SP Rajiv Ranjan Singh, who declared the meet open, said the sports meet would provide the young students a good opportunity to show their talents.
He advised students who are good in sports to take up sports professionally. He also highlighted the importance of games and sports.
Secondary Education Joint Director Marken Kadu informed that East Siang is the only district to organize such an event for the UPS students in the entire state, and hailed DDSE J Yirang for the initiative.
Thirteen UPS’ from three blocks are participating in the sports meet. (DIPRO)
