State-level FIDE rating open chess tourney begins

ITANAGAR, Nov 23: The 4th State Level Open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament, 2019, organized by the Arunachal Pradesh Chess Association (APCA), began here on Saturday.
Around 90 players from all over the state, including 65 FIDE rated players, are participating in the tournament, informed APCA general secretary Nabam Chada.
APCA president N Konia dwelt on the journey of the APCA and chess in Arunachal since 2007, and sought cooperation from all to promote and popularize the game in the state.
Earlier, PWD EE NL Togu and Finance & Accounts Officer Deep Chello declared the tournament open by lighting lamps.
