2nd edition of Arunachal Literature Festival begins

ITANAGAR, Nov 27: The second edition of Arunachal Literature Festival (ALF) organized by department of Information and Public Relations in collaboration with Arunachal Pradesh Literature Society (APLS) began here at Dorjee Khandu Convention Center on Wednesday.
The galaxy of writers, poets and authors from across the country and abroad are attending 3 days long festival which will conclude on Friday. Book exhibition, panel discussion, poetry recitation, painting competition and conversation sessions with favorite authors are the major attraction of the festival.
Attending the inaugural day PHED & WS Minister Wangki Lowang said that the literary movement should grow to infuse the sense of love for literature among the young generation. He added that students unions and clan based organizations, which are mushrooming in the state, need to keep focus on this aspect.
“We have orally transmitted literature barring few tribes, which have their own script and onus lies with the writers and members of the literary society to bring them in the form of books,” he said.
On the occasion the Minister also released the Souvenir of the Litfest 2019.
Speaking on the occasion the Best Selling Sri Lankan novelist Ashok Ferrey said ‘every people are blessed with some talent but most often people fail to realize it.’ He said, a whole new world opens up when people grab the opportunities and work on it.
IPR Secretary Himanshu Gupta, speaking on the occasion, said that the festival is being celebrated to imbibe literary taste among the people of Arunachal Pradesh.
