Centre to launch eVIN in Arunachal

ITANAGAR, Dec 6: The central government is set to launch the electronic vaccine intelligence network (eVIN) in Arunachal, and has selected 21 vaccine logistics and cold chain managers (VCCM) to be sent to the districts to strengthen the network in the state.
The eVIN is a technological solution aimed at strengthening immunization supply chain systems in India. Implemented by the health & family welfare ministry, with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), it aims to support the Centre’s universal immunization programme by providing real-time information on vaccine stocks and flows and storage temperatures across all cold chain points.
The selected VCCMs participated in a four-day orientation programme, which concluded on Friday. During the programme, which was inaugurated by State Immunization Officer Dr Dimong Padung, the VCCMs underwent training on the state-of-the-art technology, systematic recordkeeping, monitoring and managing information systems, and human resources.
Among others, State Cold Chain Officer Mejjo Bagra and MO (RI), Dr Tage Taka, attended the inauguration. Drs Pankaj Somani and Shalini Verma from the UNDP’s country office were the resource persons.
