Trg in pea production imparted

GORI, Dec 16: About 50 farmers participated in a training programme on ‘Quality seed production of pea under All Indian Coordinated Research Project NSP (Crops) and ICAR Seed Project’, organised by the ICAR’s Basar-based Arunachal Pradesh Centre, in collaboration with the West Siang KVK, at the ICAR research farm here in Leparada district recently.
While soil physics scientist Dr Jitendra Kumar delivered a lecture on ‘Seed production and its importance’, agro-forestry scientist Dr Rajesh A Alone spoke on ‘Seed certification and its importance in seed production’, and horticulture scientist Dr Deepa Lal dwelt on ‘Package and practices of quality seed production of pea’.
Soil scientist Dr Ampee Tasung spoke about ‘Soil and water management in quality seed production,’ and plant protection scientist Dr K Suraj Singh explained ‘Pest and disease management in pea’.
KVK Programme Coordinator (in-charge) Dr Moloy Sarmah Baruah and ICAR AP Centre Joint Director (in-charge) Dr Doni Jini also spoke.
Seeds of Arkel pea were later distributed among the farmers.
