RONO HILL, Dec 29: Tobu Totu struck a century and powered his team Balijan to a five-wicket victory over Doimukh in the Papum Pare District Cricket Tournament (PPDCT) here on Sunday. The win also secured Balijan their place in the semifinals.
Totu’s 111-ball 112-run knock was studded with 12 fours and five sixes.
Opener Golo Sera gave Balijan a steady start, scoring 41 runs off 57 balls (4×6). Taba Deghe made 50 runs, which included seven fours.
In the final over, Balijan needed 16 runs. They chased down the run target in the 48th over. Two overs were deducted against Balijan, owing to their slow overs rate.
Nabam Bitu took 3 wickets. He conceded 47 runs from his 10-over spell, with two maidens.
Earlier, opting to field first after winning the toss, Balijan bowled out Doimukh for 281 runs in 47.3 overs.
Teshi Tiku top-scored with 93 runs from 123 balls (4×15), while Nabam Nigam contributed 60 runs (4×9).
Techi Harun was the most successful bowler with a figure of 4 for 39 in nine overs.
