RAGA, Jan 19: The team of the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) reached here in Kamle district on Sunday, the third day of its legal awareness campaign.
APSCW Chairperson Radhilu Chai Techi informed about the various recommendations forwarded by the commission to the state government, among them being providing soft loans to women entrepreneurs, 33 percent job reservation for women, modifying customary laws that are detrimental to women, establishing family courts, etc.
Various resource persons made PowerPoint presentations on topics pertaining to uplift of women.
APSCW member Techi Hunmai, Kamle SP John Pada, APSCW legal advisor Karmu Chotten, and APSCW member Hoksum Ori also spoke.
District Planning Officer Doyak Sangyo highlighted the schemes initiated by the government for women, and DMO Dr Nani Rika spoke on the effects of drug abuse and alcoholism on the society.
Among others, ADC C Chukhu, administrative officers, and members of various NGOs and SHGs attended the programme. (DIPRO)
