Arunachal bag 4 medals on day 1

NEW DELHI, Feb 11: Arunachal on Tuesday bagged 3 silver medals and 1 bronze medal on the first day of the Wako India Open International Kickboxing Tournament-2020 being held at Talkotora Stadium here.
The medals were won by Monjit Yein (-55kg), Tara Dodum (-60kg) and Charu Tach (-84kg), informed Kickboxing Association of Arunachal secretary Charu Govin.
While Yein and Dodum bagged a silver medal each in the full contact event, Tach won the third silver in point fight. Both Yein and Dodum lost their final bouts against their opponents from Kazakhstan. Tach lost his final bout against his rival from Nepal.
While the trio settled for silver, Dolang John (-84kg) had to be content with a bronze after losing his semifinal bout to his rival from Bangladesh.
Five other players from Arunachal assured of medals after reaching the finals. The players who have reached the final are Monda Sangno (-51kg), Bialok Ragit (-74kg), Hura Maming (-63kg), Robin Deori (71kg) and Jumli Kato (-69kg).
While Sangdo and Deori will be up against their opponents from Kazakhstan in the final on Wednesday, Ragit, Maming and Kato have been pitted against their opponents from Jordan, Ukraine and Nepal, respectively.
