TEZU, Feb 21: Sixth semester BA, BSc and BCom students of Indira Gandhi Government College (IGGC) here in Lohit district attended a career counselling programme organised by the college’s career counselling cell on Friday.
IGGC Principal, Dr Kangki Megu, who inaugurated the programme, highlighted the importance of career guidance and advised the students regarding accessing information on the availability of loans and other financial assistance offered by banks and other organizations for higher studies.
Expressing concern over the shrinking of jobs in both private and public sectors, he asked the students to “inculcate skills and competence to cope with this complex situation.”
Professional counsellor Veeru Singh Sokhi advised the students to “develop self-confidence, positive thinking, and choose vocations on the basis of their aptitude.”
Career counselling cell coordinator, Dr Tage Yama, also advised the students to develop “a positive attitude and self concept.”
