PASIGHAT, Mar 12: A ‘T-20 Summer Cricket Cup’ tournament, being organized by the All Arunachal Pradesh Public Transport Federation (AAPPTF) in association with the East Siang Counter Union, got underway here in East Siang district on Thursday.
In the opening match, the Tata Mobile team set a target of 137 runs for its opponent, the Auto Rickshaw team. The Auto Rickshaw team crossed the target, losing 6 wickets, and won the match.
Earlier, District Transport Officer M Loyi in his inaugural address spoke about “the ‘Fit India’ campaign of the central government to maintain physical fitness among the drivers and other transport workers,” and lauded the AAPPTF for promoting sports.
District AAPPTF unit president Tabiram Moyong and UDC Sapan Mazumdar urged the participants to maintain the sportsman spirit.
