Libang inaugurates upgraded dist hospital

SEPPA, Mar 12: Health Minister Alo Libang along with local MLA Tapuk Taku inaugurated the upgraded building of the district hospital here in East Kameng district on Thursday.
Addressing the event, Libang said, “Every work executed by the health department is for the welfare of the public, and the people should make the best use of the facilities provided at the hospital with proper care.”
He said the department has been working dedicatedly to improve the state’s health sector, and gave assurance that he would look into the matter concerning the needs of the doctors, such as equipment and medical staff, at the district hospital.
The minister urged the doctors and the medical staff to be dedicated and punctual.
“Doctors are believed to be next to god. Therefore your service should be satisfactory to the public,” he said.
Taku in his address said the upgraded hospital “is a gift from the state government to the people of East Kameng.”
Terming the building “a great asset,” he urged the people of the district to maintain cleanliness in an around the hospital’s premises.
“The district hospital is well-equipped and will fulfill all basic as well as major needs of the patients,” Taku said.
Thanking Chief Minister Pema Khandu for his support in bringing all-round development in the district, the MLA requested the doctors and the medical staff to “be kind to the patients.”
He urged the health minister to conduct recruitment for specialist doctors, GDMOs, and ANM and GNM nurses to ensure proper functioning of all primary and community health centres in the district, as well as the district hospital here.
Among others, Bameng MLA Goruk Pordung and DMO Dr Lalchand Darung were present.
A plantation programme was also organized in the hospital’s compound.
