NAHARLAGUN, Mar 25: The inter-state and inter-district check gates have been sealed for all types of vehicular movement from Wednesday, except those carrying essential commodities.
Capital SP Tumme Amo has sent a message to the Naharlagun, Itanagar, Nirjuli, Banderdewa and Hollongi police regarding the sealing.
All roads within the capital have also been sealed at various locations by the police and administration with barricades and bamboos to restrict movement.
The police said that these barricades would be removed by morning.
Hospital staff not allowed free movement
The security forces around the capital region are reportedly not allowing some hospital staff to pass through even after providing their identity cards to the security personnel on duty.
As per sources, a staff of the health department, who was on a vehicle, was stopped on Wednesday morning while on her way to the hospital here.
She was reportedly not allowed to move even after providing her ID, and informing that she was heading to the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences for duty, and said that she felt harassed.
However, the authorities concerned did not respond to the queries on the matter.
