Covid-19: Min reviews dist’s preparedness

ZIRO, Mar 31: Agriculture Minister Tage Taki convened a meeting with the DC, the SP, the DMO and other officers here on Tuesday to review Lower Subansiri’s preparedness against Covid-19.
Stressing the need for “more vigilant monitoring” of the home-quarantined persons, the minister instructed that local officers be appointed as supervisors in the villages.
“These supervisors, in close coordination with the medical department and the administration, will meticulously monitor and ensure that the people strictly follow the home quarantine guidelines and practice social distancing,” he said.
“This week is very crucial and we all will have to be extra vigilant and intensify our activities,” Taki said.
The minister also reviewed the arrangements made for the migrant labourers, and suggested forming a committee to ensure smooth distribution of essential commodities to them.
The status of the quarantine centres and the control rooms for Covid-19, stock of essential commodities and medicines, and readiness of vehicles to transport blood samples and patients were also discussed. (DIPRO)
