W/Siang DA sets up grievances cell

AALO, Apr 16: The West Siang district administration has set up a public grievances cell to address issues related to the security and grievances of the people.
The cell, which will be manned by a limited number of staffers of the DC office, will be open from 10 am to 4 pm.
“The public may WhatsApp or email to given numbers as circulated in various forums,” the DIPRO said.
Meanwhile, 407 out of the targeted 2872 migrant labourers have been provided with food at the relief camp or rations through the SDRF by the disaster management department, at the rate of Rs 60 per day for adults and Rs 45 per day for minors.
“As to MGNREGA programme, which is demand driven, the DRDA has so far not received any demand wages at Rs 202,” the DIPRO said.
Masks are meanwhile being prepared in sectors, offices and villages by the West Siang APDA unit and the ATPWDS.
Donations continue to flow. Businessman Gemar Lollen contributed Rs 50,000, the proprietor of Boken Tea, Kenjom Ete, donated 200 packets of green tea, and Nyabom Bagra of Aalo Yijo donated 100 handmade facemasks and 10 bottles of sanitizer.
The DMO has entrusted all medical officers with specific duties and responsibilities to tackle the disease, the DIPRO said.
