BAM, Apr 22: Seeds of groundnut and hybrid maize were distributed among the farmers here on Tuesday last in West Siang district by the Krishi Vikash Kendra (KVK) under the Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav scheme.
Earlier, awareness was also created among the farmers regarding consumption of pulses in regular diet and on importance of growing pulses.
Discussions were also held on topics like effective utilization of rice fallow, intercropping of pulse in orchards and other crops for pulse production etc.
The programme was led by Assistant Chief Technical Officer Dr Rita Nongthombam who informed the farmers about techniques of seed production of different pulses in farmer’s field through seed village concept involving progressive farmers.
