ZIRO, Apr 30: The officers and staff of the Lower Subansiri district administration bid farewell to Chukhu Takar, who retired as the district’s deputy commissioner on Thursday.
Takar had joined government service as a teacher at the DEO, Ziro, in 1983. He was appointed as a circle officer in 1986, and posted at Aalo. During a service tenure extending a little over 36 years, Takar served the government in various capacities at Ziro, Seijosa, Doimukh, Koloriang and Balijan.
He had joined as the Lower Subansiri DC in April 2018 amid the infamous Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH) compensation controversy, and was instrumental in the project taking off again in 2019, after 12 years of stagnation.
Today, work on the Potin-ANYA Gate (Package 1) and the ANYA Gate-Pamluk (Package 2) stretches of the TAH, as well as the Joram-Koloriang road (Packages 1 and 2) in Lower Subansiri are witnessing tremendous progress. (DIPRO)
