DC takes stock of preparedness

ZIRO, May 3: Lower Subansiri DC Nending Chatung convened a meeting here on Sunday to take stock of the district’s preparedness for handling the relaxations post lockdown 2.0.
“With the homecoming of our people stranded outside the state, the situation needs to be handled with utmost care and while adhering to the guidelines issued by the MHA. With all the preparatory works pertaining to Covid care centres almost in place, what we will require is coordination,” he said.
Stating that the check gates will be manned 24×7 by administrative officers, the DC directed DDMO Nima Drema to prepare a roster for all the officers.
“The Covid control room will be merged with the police control room and manned by responsible officers under the supervision of the SP,” he said.
The DC underscored the importance of the control room, which will be responsible for disseminating information to all the districts that are reached via the Potin check gate.
Issues such as installation of disinfectant sprinklers at the check gates, timeframes for truckers to load and unload essential commodities, implementation of the standard operating procedures (SOP) issued by the MHA, facilitating stranded people to move out from the district, the status of the quarantine facilities, and the SOP for management of passengers entering Lower Subansiri via the Potin check gate were also discussed.
SP Harsh Indora, DMO Dr Tage Kanno, Covid care centre nodal officer Dr Derin Likar, the DDMO, and all the administrative officers attended the meeting. (DIPRO)
