NSCN (R) ‘town commander’ nabbed

CHANGLANG, Jun 16: A self-styled (SS) sergeant major of the NSCN (R), identified as Monpi Mamai, was apprehended by the Changlang battalion of the Assam Rifles from Chokdok village here on Tuesday.
A Myanmarese-made .22 mm pistol along with five rounds was recovered from his possession.
Monpi had recently been appointed as the Changlang ‘town commander’ after the apprehension of SS sergeant major Chingmon Mamai.
Monpi was involved in extortion and antinational activities. Both the NSCN operatives are in police custody. (DIPRO)
