APCC’s labour cell raises question over state’s financial health

ITANAGAR, Jun 17: The labour cell of the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has urged the state government to clear its stand on the financial condition of the state.
Raising question over the financial health of the state, the APCC’s labour cell, in its memorandum to the Chief Secretary on Wednesday, said that only 20 per cent of the contractors’ payment has been made. It said that many genuine contractors, who executed schemes under various departments, are facing lot of problems in taking up new assignment due to non-payment of their dues.
It has urged the Deputy Chief Minister to give an explanation on the state’s financial health and financial position of the various departments of the state government.
Demanding uniform development in all areas of the state, the APCC’s labour cell said that schemes are taken up in only few areas of the state.
Claiming that several organizations and individuals including law makers had donated cash and kind in the fight against covid-19, the labour cell of the APCC said that the state government should disclose the total amount received from public and NGOs, and from the central government for this purpose and also give details of its utilization.
